Affluent nations the most depressed, says study

A new study has found that some of the most affluent countries also tend to have the highest rates of depression. “Wherever you are, there’s always people doing better than you,” says Evelyn Bromet, PhD. “You’d think that countries that are better off should have lower rates [of depression], but just because they have a high income doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of stress in the environment.” We know that gambling can be stressful, but not if you set yourself bankroll limits beforehand.
